MURPHY Born about 2/12/10 Murphy was brought to the shelter by some people who had recently moved to the area and Murphy was left behind by the previous owner of the rural home they had purchased. Keeping Murphy was fine with them initially, but it turned out he isn't good with the cats. Perhaps he just wants to play, but they don't and they were scared and miserable and thus it was decided Murphy had to go. At the shelter, Murphy is an affable gentleman of a dog who shows no fear of people and gets along well with other dogs. He has very much a hound dog face and coat, but his build is more shepherd. Except for the one issue, he is a thoroughly nice dog. Murphy found a home in St. Louis but a couple of years later we received he was in an animal care facility in Bentonville, Arkansas. Adopter said there was divorce and ex-husband had taken the dog, later giving him to his father. She furnished the phone numbers she had for these two men but there was no response to many attempts at calling, thus Murphy made the trip back to Salem. He is a tremendously nice dog who seems to take everything in stride and is still trusting with all people. He does well with other dogs.
