Mariah was one of a large litter born to a beautiful treeing walker coonhound. Mom and pups were found in the woods behind a rural home. The puppies were only 2-3 days old and the mother (Camille) was in poor condition, very thin and malnourished. The mother probably is purebred; the puppies probably are not, but the remainder of their genetics is not known. They were reared in foster care in St. Louis where they grew into happy, beautiful and active puppies. Benita was taken in foster to adopt care by a family who turned out to be unreliable, paying for her with a bad check never made good, then returning her months later because the resident dog had never accepted her; on return she had an severe ear infection that had gone untreated. Mariah is a very beautiful, sweet and smart dog in search of a new home where she will get better care and training. There's a lot of puppy in her yet.
